It is my pleasure to inform you that the Department of Sociology is a significant seat of learning in the Faculty of Management and Social Sciences of the FATA University. It is hoped that this department will produce well groomed and well balanced individuals-traits that will be indispensable to successful sociologists. They will be rendering services in different settings of community organization and other developments. My dear students, being the students of a newly established university, you have many responsibilities in pursuing your education with enthusiasm and will try to bring good name to the university. My dear students, I appreciate you and advise you to always show your obedience and respect to your parents, teachers and elders because you can reach the heights of success and perfection only through their good wishes and prayers. The Department of Sociology is committed to promote social change, problem solving in human relationships, the empowerment and liberation of people to enhance well-being by utilizing theories, knowledge and skills for the social development of society.

Mission
The Department of Sociology mission is to strengthen Social Institution through Sociological research and teaching. To equip graduating students of sociology with sociological knowledge and professional skills to work for peace, tolerance and sustainability of society. Further, it also aims to integrate academic research with developmental activities of government and non-government organizations and to enlighten all stakeholders of society about their resources, social problems and their solution.
Vision
The Bachelor of Science in Sociology (BS- Sociology) 4-Years program have been designed to provide solid foundation sociological information and research areas where graduates are enabled to exercise their development skills for providing automatic solutions to social problems.

Eligibility Criteria: FA (Sociology Prefferd)/FSc or Equivalent with at least 2nd Divison (45% Marks)
