FATA University is on the way to success

The Vice Chancellor of the FATA University, Prof. Dr. M. Tahir Shah, at the concluding session of a workshop said that the newly established FATA University is on the way to success whereby it has made greater achievements in a short time in both academic activities and infrastructure development. The first academic session has been started from October 2016 and by now seven disciplines such as Management Sciences, Political Science, Sociology, Mathematics, Computer Science, English and Geology are in function. Various workshops, trainings, short courses and seminars have been organized and the students were tried to be involved in debating, sports and other extracurricular activities to enhance their intellectual capabilities.

The master plan and designing of the infrastructure development on the newly purchased 466 kanal piece of land has already been approved by the Review Committee of the Higher Education Commission, Islamabad. The construction work on the boundary wall, main gate, watchtowers and reception and Security offices has been started. The pre-qualification of the construction firms for the construction of the science and arts academic blocks, administration block, library, community centre, gymnasium, boys and girls hostels, faculty hostel and faculty and staff houses, tube well and overhead water tank is in progress. In this way, the construction work on the infrastructure development will start very soon. Besides, a work on separate electrical feeder is in progress, which will be completed in the next month. The university is connected with fiber optics for internet and telephone service. Two buses have already been purchased for providing pick and drop service to the faculty, staff and students. The Vice Chancellor appreciated the efforts of the faculty and staff of the FATA University in this regard. He said that bringing the FATA University at par with the best universities of Pakistan is our mission.
